Australian Aaron Gate (An Post Chain Reaction) claimed stage 2 of this year’s An Post Rás in Carlow-Tipperary Town today, while Lukas Postlberger took over the yellow jersey.

Meanwhile, Dundalk native Bryan McCrystal (Team Asea) put in an incredible ride, leading out front for the majority of the stage, but was unfortunately caught by the peloton during the final 5 kilometers.

Lukas Postlberger (Tirol Cycling Team) now leads the race, while Down rider Martyn Irvine moved up into second place in the general classification, 58 seconds behind Postlberger.

In other race news, stage 1 winner, Francesco Reda ( Tean IDEA 2010 ASD), was disqualified by race officials, for apparently holding onto a car during today’s stage.
