This weekend, cyclocross lovers from across the country and beyond, will line up behind the barriers to watch this year’s National Championships at the historic Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina.
Here’s some info from USA Cycling, along with a preview video of the course.
“USA Cycling and the Asheville-Buncombe Regional Sports Commission are excited to welcome more than 2,000 riders to beautiful Asheville and the Biltmore Estate for the 2016 USA Cycling Cyclo-Cross National Championships,” said USA Cycling National Events Manager Tara McCarthy. “We look forward to crowning the top cyclo-cross riders in the country next week at one of America’s most treasured landmarks and properties.”
Twenty-seven riders return to the USA Cycling Cyclo-Cross National Championships to defend their 2015 titles, including elite champions Jeremy Powers (Easthampton, Mass./Aspire Racing) and Katie Compton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Trek Factory Racing). Powers will challenge the elite men’s field in pursuit of his fourth championship in five years, while Compton seeks an unprecedented 12th crown in the women’s race.
Held at Asheville’s famous Biltmore Estate, the six-day event will run on a 3.2km course that features two flyovers, one trip through a historic barn and plenty of challenging terrain.
Ultrasport.tv and USA Cycling are partnering to bring live streaming on the final day of competition. Sunday’s youth women, U23 men, elite women and elite men will air live on Ultrasport.tv from 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. EST.
