Come join the Echelon ladies on the 11th of May to celebrate women cycling. If your a beginner, intermediate or even a professional, we would like you to join us. Invite a friend or bring your daughter and after the ride we will enjoy a coffee or cold drink and great company Elize Hutchinson email Nelson,
We’ll confirm and publicize the starting point and route nearer the day, but it will involve a group ride on one of the Nelson cycle paths, most likely starting from Central Nelson on the new Copenhagen lane on St Vincent St, over the Railway Reserve and a circuit round the Stoke cycle paths, with a couple of civilized stops for refreshments.
We’re splitting the ride in to two parts this year.
We all meet at the Peace Statue on Brighton seafront at 9.30am. We’ll ride along the seafront cycle paths to Carats Cafe in Shoreham. This bit of the ride is all off the main road, so suitable for (supervised) children. It’s also completely flat, so all levels of rider and all types of bike are welcome!
At this point one of us will lead a group back to Brighton, and I’ll be taking anyone who wants to do a longer road ride on a 30ish mile loop of the Sussex Lanes, finishing at The Velo Cafe for a coffee and some cake.
This ride is totally inclusive, so however you identify, join us to celebrate women on bikes.

That strong communities are built around strong women. That being on a bike brings you closer to your community, to nature, and to yourself. That from action comes change, and from visibility comes reality. And that independence, self-empowerment and personal strength are things we need every day.
It’s as easy as riding a bike !
CycloFemme is a socially-driven grass-roots celebration of women on bikes. We are with many others joining in to celebrate in their own special way. Ride with us this May 12, 2013 as we Honor the Past, Celebrate the Present, Empower the Future of Women in Cycling.
CycloFemme is a creative intiative of
“Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world. It gives women a feeling of freedom and self-reliance. I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel…the picture of free, untrammeled womanhood.”

is a NYC-based multi-disciplinary design firm driven by stories and how they are delivered. We create visual languages — across platforms — from the real world to the digital. An office of four women with different backgrounds, we are all city commuters who love the freedom that bikes bring to life in the city.
At the core of CycloFemme are the women, children, mothers, father, sisters, brother and friends who join us, support us and give this movement momentum. We ride together.
