Edco Launches Mono Block Cassettes

The Swiss company Edco, who has dazzled the market with small batches of precision hubs and wheelsets over the years, has finally brought their much talked about – 11speed mono block cassettes to fruition.

Weighing in at a scant 190g (including the standard locking), as the mono block term suggests, the cassette are made from a single block of billet.

But, the perhaps most exciting feature about them, is they’re designed to fit on Shimano 8/9/10 speed free hubs, so devotee’s of the Japanese brand who may have a set of expensive wheels lying around from the pre-11 era, can now rescue them from the basement.

As for the Campagnolo fanatics, Edco didn’t forget about them either, with a range of cassettes all the up to 32T.

Perhaps, the best thing about them is the price – around $225.
