The California-based Irwin Cycling recently stepped onto the scene with a new series of carbon and aluminum wheelsets, with offerings in tubeless ready, wide-profile and deep sectioned models, with prices ranging from $600-$1800.
According Irwin, each wheelset is built using Sapim CX-Ray spokes and their own rapid engagement 6-pawl hub with ceramic bearings.
The range is comprised of five models, encompassing tubeless, disc brake specific and a full carbon disc wheel in profiles of 24.5mm, 30mm, 38mm, 55mm, 58mm, 80mm and 85mm, alongside silver or stealth graphics.
Irwin says, every model goes through a rigorous 5-point testing protocol in their in-house testing facility. The wheels have external nipples for easy maintenance without removing the tire. AON TLR models are shipped with pre-installed tubeless rim tape, skewers, bespoke brake pads and alloy tubeless valve stems.
“We are excited to launch Irwin Cycling. We have had success in other parts of the world and look forward to showing our line to the US market,” said president, Eric Chen. “Tubeless ready road wheels are here to stay and we are confident our AON TLR series can go head-to-head with what’s out there today for road, CX and gravel.”
