A belated happy birthday to Lucien Teisseire, who was born on December 11, 1919, and died on December 22, 2007.

The French rider is best remembered for finishing 3rd in the 1948 World Championship Road Race behind Alberic Schotte of Belgium and Apo Lazarides of France.

In addition, Teisseire also stood on the podium of the 1945 Paris-Roubaix Classic, behind winner Paul Maye of France.

However, Teisseire’s most memorable victories came when he won the prestigious Paris-Tours Classic in 1944, the 1953 Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré., along with a handful of Tour de France stage wins during this career.

Joyeux anniversaire Lucien!
