Moschino Barbie, What is the World Coming to?
For the record, Capo Velo recognizes and supports any and all principled individuals (especially cyclists 😉 ), regardless of their race, color, creed, gender identification or sexual orientation, but we found this latest commercial from the designer label, Moschino, simply beyond the pale.
Not that the commercial really has anything to do with cycling per say, but, nevertheless, we found it’s pathetic mockery of diversity and gender equality, to be nothing short of astonishing.
Instead of exploiting innocent children in a ridiculous, parodying manner for want of needless fashion hype, why not create something meaningful, like a Marianne Vos or Connie Carpenter-Phinney Barbie on a Bike?
Specialized or Trek would surely jump on it in a second!
