“Oak” Pushes the Boundaries of Cycling Animation

'oak' still 2

Created while studying at the KASK School at the University College of Arts in Ghent, Belgium, Jeroen Ceulebrouck’s film short, Oak, pushes the boundaries of cycling animation.

The story depicts a lonesome woodcutter living a peaceful life in the woods.

However, something seems to be a little off, wherein a strange obsession seems to control his everyday life.

While the film doesn’t necessarily center around cycling, the bike nevertheless serves as a center-piece throughout this strange, but solemn tale.

As seen in the credits, Oak went on to garner numerous accolades for Ceulebrouck, earning himself recognition from film festivals across the world in Brussels, Canada, Holland, Australia and Uruguay.

Enjoy!
