Rapha Launches New Range of Saddles

Working in partnership with famed Italian brand, Selle Italia, Rapha has launched a new range of saddles aimed at performance and comfort.

Building on fourteen years at the forefront of clothing design, Rapha says its saddles have been constructed to partner perfectly with their range  bib shorts for “ultimate comfort at the primary contact point between rider and machine.”

Developed from scratch over the last two years, Rapha introduces two new models of saddles, the Classic and Pro Team saddles, with the goal of accommodating a wide range of cyclists and riding styles.

The Classic saddle combines what Rapha describers as “timeless styling with handcrafted contemporary details”, which features a curved profile that’s designed to work in tandem with the British brand’s Classic Bib Shorts II.

Supported by a one-piece carbon rail laid up, the saddle’s shell is constructed of lightweight carbon-reinforced nylon and topped off with a perforated cover.

The Pro Team saddle is aimed at riders who need a lightweight design that can handle the rigors of intense, heavy riding.

Not surprisingly, the Pro Team was developed as the perfect match for Rapha’s Pro Team Bib Shorts II.

Designed for comfort and minimum weight, the Pro Team is handmade entirely from carbon. Moreover, for added pressure relief, a cutout version is also available, reducing the weight even further to a svelte 141 grams.

All of the new Rapha saddles are available in varying widths and foam densities, designed specifically to match the size, placement and thickness of the chamois pad in brand’s range of dedicated bib shorts.

Additionally, Rapha has an easy to use online fit calculator, which is designed to help customers to find the perfect saddle and bib short combination by entering their waist measurement, weight and preferred riding position.
