The Fat Bike and the E-Bike Come Together to Create the Folding “Parillino”

The Italian company, Moto Parilla, has cleverly combined two popular segments in the bicycle industry, the fatbike and the e-bike, to create the novel Parillino folding electric bicycle.

Offered in both non-motorized and electric-assist versions, the Parillino features a Shimano 7-speed transmission, 16 x 4-inch all-terrain fat tires, front and rear 140-mm mechanical disc brakes and a truss-like steel frame that quickly folds down in three easy steps.

Electric assistance is provided by a 250-watt rear hub motor powered by a 7-Ah battery pack, which is capable boosting the rider’s speed to 15 mph (24 km/h) with a range of around 31 miles (50 kilometers).

“Before bringing Parillino to life, all we could see the folding bikes market had to offer was a selection of practical, yet inelegant models. All the other companies seemed to present the same type, the same style, the same design, every bike appeared to be conceived only as the simplest way to take you from point A to point B, but no one seemed to care about the impact of what other people would actually see”, says Moto Parilla.

“With our experience in motorbike and bike design, we decided to create something distinguished, modern, fashionable, unique, something that would say: “This is the real Italian design”.

“We considered practicality too, so we designed a frame that would match and balance the fat tires and could be suitable anywhere

“This is how our Parillino was born.”

In order to increase production with the Parillino, Moto Parilla has undertaken a crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter, offering special incentives for early backers that you can learn more about here
