Vision Offers Metron 5D and 4D Integrated Aerobars

New and exciting things keep emerging from Vision, especially in the category of carbon fiber “cockpit bits and pieces”.

Touting such claims as the “stiffness of all integrated aerobar systems”, Vision first unveiled its Metron 5D and 4D handlebars during last year’s Taipei Bike show, only to reprise them again for this month’s annual event.

To wit:

“The Metron 5D integrated handlebar, the stiffest and most aero integrated handlebar and stem system. Mixing aerodynamics and ergonomics, the unique shape includes our Aero-Ergo central section. With a slight rise from the stem clamp and a 10 degree forward bend, the 5D accommodates the natural position of your arms for more comfort and easier breathing, while the wing-like shape of the bar top aids aerodynamics. Reinforced carbon fiber construction gives a great strength-to-weight ratio. The 5D features internal cable routing, with guides that accommodate wiring for electronic shifting.”

The Metron 4D expands upon the brand’s existing 4D design, albeit with a more slimmed down and refined profile.

However, the updated Metron 4D features newly added slots to the bars’ wing top, which are designed to interface with Vision’s new direct-mount M.A.S. (Modular Aero System) tri-bar set-up, that allows cyclists to add aerobar extensions, as well as adjust the bar’s height and pad placement.

Similar to the Metron 5D, Vision describes the 4D as, “mixing aerodynamics and ergonomics, the unique shape of the Metron 4D includes our Aero-Ergo central section. With a slight rise from the stem clamp and a 10 degree forward bend, the 4D accommodates the natural position of your arms for more comfort and easier breathing, while the wing-like shape of the bar top aids aerodynamics. Reinforced carbon fiber construction gives a great strength-to-weight ratio. The 4D features internal cable routing, with guides that accommodate wiring for electronic shifting.”
