Rapha Celebrates Phinney & Carpenter with Jerseys

Special edition jersey dedicated to an iconic rider

Olympic medallist, American National Champion, Tour de France stage winner – Davis Phinney is one of America’s most successful road racers. This special edition Sportwool™ jersey is inspired by one of the most iconic moments of Phinney’s career, his 1988 Coors Classic win while riding for 7-Eleven.

The jersey is constructed from Sportwool™, chosen for its versatility, comfort, and breathability. It features a quarter-length zip, three large rear pockets and zipped valuables pocket. The central band and rear pocket detailing are highly reflective.

In 1999, Davis Phinney was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He and his wife, Connie Carpenter-Phinney, established the Davis Phinney Foundation to provide information, investment, and encouragement for others affected by the disease. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the Davis Phinney Long Sleeve Jersey will go to the Davis Phinney Foundation.

Key features:

  • Exclusive graphics
  • Comfortable, breathable Sportwool™
  • Three cargo pockets
  • Valuables pocket with bronze eagle zipper
  • Reflective detailing

Please note that 10% of the profit from each jersey will go directly to the Davis Phinney Foundation.

"When Davis was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, at the age of 40, he made the decision to focus not on adversity or the steep climb that lay before him but, rather, to formulate a new plan of attack. Part of that plan was to help others living with Parkinson’s to experience what he has throughout his life and career: namely, the power of setting a goal, expecting a positive outcome and fighting for victory. Rapha’s generous donation via the sale of the Connie Carpenter and Davis Phinney jerseys will help fund Davis Phinney Foundation programs, resources and research that will, in turn, help people with Parkinson’s to live well and make every victory count."

In her heyday, Connie Carpenter was the dominant force in women’s cycling. With 12 national championships, world championship medals and an Olympic medal, Carpenter is one of the most successful women to ever compete. This special edition Sportwool™ jersey is inspired by her many years in the stars and stripes of the American national championship jersey.

Sportwool™ is comfortable, breathable and insulating, making this a highly versatile jersey. It features a full-length zip with zip guard, tone-on-tone Rapha armstripe, and reflective front stripes and rear pocket detail.

Connie Carpenter’s husband and fellow Olympian, Davis Phinney, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1999. Together, they established the Phinney Foundation to provide information, investment, and encouragement for others affected by the disease. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the Connie Carpenter Long Sleeve Jersey will go to the Phinney Foundation.
