Alberto Contador stormed to victory in stage 4 of Tirreno-Adriatico at the summit of the Selvarotonda today, with a virtuoso display of climbing prowess.
The Spanish rider surged with less than 200 meters to go on the final ascent of the day, beating Nairo Quintana and Daniel Moreno to seize the victory.
Meanwhile, Michal Kwiatkowski managed to hold onto his leader’s jersey, however, not without losing valuable time to Contador, who succeeded in moving up into second place in the overall GC – just 6 seconds behind. Quintana is now in third place at 23 seconds back.
