Sacha Modolo won stage 2 of this year’s VDK-Driedaagse De Panne-Koksijde, in a sprint finish against riders from the FDJ.fr and Omega Pharma-Quick Step team – after a well-timed lead out by his Lampre-Merida squad.
Meanwhile, Arnaud Demare finished in second place, with tis year’s Milan – San Remo winner Alexander Kristoff in third.
Yesterday’s stage winner Peter Sagan finished in the main field – more than three minutes back.
After today’s stage results, Gert Steegmans took over the race lead, followed by Oscar Gatto in second place at three seconds behind.
The VDK-Driedaagse De Panne-Koksijde wraps-up tomorrow with a 109 kilometer stage, followed by 14.3 kilometer time trial later in the day.
