Jingle Cross 2014 Day 3

Jamie Driscoll (Raleigh-Clement) and Courtenay McFadden (GE Capital) claimed the men’s and women’s races, on the third and final day of this year’s Jingle Cross series today.

Driscoll (Raleigh-Clement) rode to a solo victory – 18 seconds ahead of Michael Van Den Ham (Trek Red Truck), who narrowly outsprinted Kerry Werner (Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies), to complete the podium line-up.

Earlier in the race, a group of eight riders rode clear during the first lap.

Shortly thereafter, Driscoll made his move during the fourth lap, and from there went on to claim a solo victory, after leaving Werner and Van Den Ham to battle it out for second place.

In the women’s race, Friday and Saturday’s race winner, Katerina Nash, made an early escape with her Luna teammate, Maghalie Rochette.

Rochette would later fade after the third lap, leaving Nash out front alone.

However, on the final lap, McFadden put in a valiant effort, and subsequently reeled in Nash –  to claim the victory over the Czech champion by a slim 6 second lead.

Meanwhile, Sunny Gilbert (Michelob Ultra-Big Shark) finished in third place, more than 40 seconds behind the winner.
