Peter Sagan Tour of California Jersey Give-Away

Sugoi unveiled a special edition Peter Sagan "Green Machine" Signature Jersey at the Tour of California last weekend.

The jersey, which Sagan helped design, will be available for sale at the Lifestyle Expo during the race and one jersey will be given away each morning to fans at the Cannondale Pro Cycling team bus.

In the past, Sagan has won a record 10 stages at the California Tour, thus the nickname, the "Tourminator".

Sugoi designers and Sagan collaborated through Sugoi’s Live Art Direct system to finalize the design.

"I wanted a jersey that spoke to my inner drive to win, but also shows off my fun side. Working with Sugoi they quickly understood my vision, and I hope people love the jersey as much as I do," Sagan said in a team release.

The jersey is built on Sugoi’s custom RS Jersey and will be available at bike shops across North America by June 15. Suggested retail price: $100.

Overview

Starting in January 2014, with a rough hand drawing and an idea, Sagan worked closely with SUGOI’s in-house design team to create a jersey that truly spoke to his racing character and signature alter egos. Collaborating both in person and through SUGOI’s Custom Live Art Direct, where rider and artist shared computer screens and video chat from wherever Peter was on the road, the “Green Machine” design quickly took shape. Using the Live Art Direct system that is available to all SUGOI’s customers, revisions came together quickly and soon the “Green Machine” jersey was born.

The bold design depicts Sagan’s “Green Machine” alter ego that cannot be contained. Lurking just below the surface of his CPC livery, a powerful engine of fire and fury are ready to be unleashed at just the right moment in a race. His Slovakian DNA runs deep within his embedded national emblem and the eyes on his back address all those attempting to catch his wheel.
