Shimano unveiled it’s new WH-RX830 carbon wheelset this week, that not only boasts disc brake capability, but it features tubeless tire technology as well.
The new 830’s are predicated on a Shimano’s proven 17mm wide tubeless rims, along with Ultegra level hubs with a CenterLock rotor mount that are both 10 and 11 speed compatible.
In addition to 135mm rear spacing, they incorporate Shimano’s high end cup-ancone bearing system for easy maintenance.
According to Shimano, the new wheelset will be available in September, and will retail for $1,500. And, for now, the WH-RX830 will only be available with quick-release axles.
