Mark Cavendish and Iljo Keisse took over the lead in this year’s Six Days of Ghent last night, after gaining one lap over the rest of the field – surpassing the 200-point mark. As a result, previous leaders, Jasper De Buyst and Kenny De Ketele, fell to third place.
In the meantime, Leif Lampater and Silvan Dillier moved up from fourth place into second – subsequently knocking the Danish duo of Alex Rasmussen and Marc Hester out of their podium spot.
Meanwhile, it was a good night for Moreno de Pauw and Christian Grasmann, who matched the 500 meter time trial record, wherein Grasmann set things up for his teammate – launching De Pauw to a time of 27.03, thus matching the time of Franco Marvulli and Tristian Marguet from two years ago.
In addition, they also claimed victory last night – in the final Madison event.
