The Belgian powerhouse team of Telenet-Fidea announced their plans to send three of it’s riders to this year’s CrossVegas event.
The trio of contenders set to race on September 10th, are Thijs Van Amerongen, Quinten Hermans and Dan Soete to the September 10 race.
Being a CrossVegas veteran, and placing 6th in the U23 championships, Hermans is the Belgian squad’s top hopeful to secure a podium finish.
Meanwhile, Van Amerongen described his CrossVegas ambitions:
“This will be my first Crossvegas and I’m certainly looking forward to it. Not only to help our sponsors with some American PR activities, such as the Ridley Cross Clinic with the Telenet Fidea Cycling Team – but I’m eager to ride a good CrossVegas and win some valuable UCI-points before the start of the European season.”
Team owner Hans Van Kasteren commented,
“In 2011 the Telenet Fidea Cycling Team was the first team to travel to Las vegas to participate in CrossVegas. CrossVegas is the biggest cyclocross event in America and definitely one of a kind!
In addition, the team members will conduct a Ridley Bike Cross Clinic during this year’s event. The clinic will be open to the public with complete details to be announced on CrossVegas’s site.
Race Director Brook Watts described the Telenet Fidea announcement as “more great news for CrossVegas. I’m honored that Hans and the team think so highly of the event to send a strong group. It’s a treat for fans to see these guys every year.”
