AURUM Targets the Off-Road with New Manto Gravel Bike

AURUM has targeted the road less traveled with the launch of its new Manto gravel bike, treating gravelers to a lightweight, aerodynamic design that the boutique brand claims is “the highest performance bike on the market”.

Making its debut in Madrid, Spain today, the Manto gets its aerodynamic signature from AURUM’s Magma road bike, adapting its road-going brethren’s tear-drop NACA Airfoil tube shapes, albeit with more robust profiles in order to meet the demand of off-road pursuits.

“After all the experience designing and developing the Magam, we decided to take on a gravel bike, a discipline that allows you to ride everywhere, get away from traffic if you like, explore countryside paths, with the same spirit – the highest performance. We have spent countless hours riding it, fine-tuning it and thinking about how to make it better, to be worth of sitting next to the MAGMA in our bike catalog,” says ex-pro and AURUM co-founder Alberto Contador.

Elsewhere, the Manto features AURUM’s Experience Carbon Technology (ECT), a construction method that balances light weight, overall structural strength and rider comfort, along with an integrated 1.5″ headset for full internal cable routing, a wedge-style clamp for a conventional 27.2mm round seatpost, 12mm thru-axles, three bottle cage mounts and an 86mm wide aluminum threaded T47 bottom bracket. Moreover, the bike is compatible with both 1x and 2x groupsets thanks to a removable front derailleur/chain guide mount, while there’s enough clearance to accommodate tires up to a hefty 45mm.

Available in four sizes (48, 51, 54, 56 and 58) and in Castilla yellow, Astur green and Mediterráneo orange colorways, the Manto is offered as a frameset only for 3500€. Customers can also opt to purchase AURUM’s cockpit, which includes an alloy stem and a carbon seatpost for an additional 400€.
