Body Rocket Announces the World’s Most Accurate Cycling Power Meter

Body Rocket, the tech startup behind the first and only real-time direct drag force aero measurement system for cyclists and triathletes has announced the launch of the “world’s most accurate cycling power meter”.

Born out of necessity when developing the Body Rocket aero system, upon finding that current power meter offerings didn’t provide a high enough level of accuracy for the system’s precise requirements, Body Rocket began designing its own power meter pedals.

Following a highly successful pre-order launch of the full Body Rocket system, and a significant amount of consumer interest in the availability of the pedals as a standalone product, the Brighton-based brand has now opened pre-orders for its power meter.

Priced at £1,500, and with a June 2025 global delivery timeline, the rechargeable pedals consist of integrated dual-sided ANT+ compatible power meters with a power accuracy of +- 0.1% (as shown by data collected by the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub).

With an industry-leading sample rate of 20Hz, Body Rocket’s power meter collects and interprets more data than any competitor product, streaming highly accurate information to any ANT+ compatible head unit. Data can also be sent to the Body Rocket app. With ANT+ sample rates capped at around 1Hz, the app allows deeper post-ride analysis of power, L/R balance and power phase data captured at a much higher frequency.

Weighing in at 185g per pedal, the Body Rocket power meter is compatible with all SPD-SL cleats and features a standard, 53mm spindle, allowing for a wide range of crank compatibility.

Eric DeGolier, Body Rocket Founder and CEO, said, “Our team of engineers at Body Rocket is made up of some of the brightest minds in the field, and they have to be! Measuring aerodynamics is about 10x as hard as measuring power, so in building our own system, we ended up with all the measurements needed for power at, unsurprisingly, about 10x the accuracy of most commercial systems. While we didn’t initially set out to create the most accurate power meter on the market, the feedback we’ve received from our customers and community has made it clear there’s a real demand. We’re excited to bring this solution to life and offer our pedals as a standalone product!”

Rob Lewis, Managing Director at TotalSim (parent of SSE Hub), said, “Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub has chosen to use the Body Rocket system for rider input power measurements on their Pedalling Efficiency Rig. No other power meter could offer the precision and wireless data logging capabilities required for a high-performance R&D tool to analyze mechanical and human performance, combining two unique ground-breaking products in cycling technology and development”.
