Castelli Introduces New Do.Di.Ci. Jacket

Castelli has introduced its latest cycling jacket dubbed the Do.Di.Ci., which is designed to deliver optimal breathability and comfort during high-intensity rides in cool, dry conditions.

According to Castelli, the Do.Di.Ci. blurs the lines between a jacket and a jersey, which is designed to be worn in temperatures ranging from 46 to 68°F.

Castelli partnered with fabric innovators ITTTAI to develop the jacket’s exclusive Ristretto technology, utilizing the company’s membrane and lamination expertise to create a new PFAS-free fabric that’s designed for conditions where rain protection is not required.

The Ristretto name translates to “restricted” from Italian, indicating that it restricts the amount of air flowing through the fabric to be virtually windproof while still evaporating significantly more sweat than waterproof membranes. In the case of Do.Di.Ci., the moniker translates to “twelve” in Italian, referring to the Italian brand’s claim that it evaporates sweat 12 times more effectively than its original Gabba jacket.

Additionally, Castelli claims the Do.Di.Ci. has an air permeability of three cubic feet per minute, making it the most breathable jacket in its autumn/fall/winter 2025 range.

Steve Smith, International Brand Manager at Castelli, said “There’s never been a jacket like the Do.Di.Ci.. We see it as the spiritual heir to the Gabba for the way many people use the Gabba.”

“The original Gabba was created for professional riders racing in the rain, but given its phenomenal success, we see that many cyclists use it in conditions that it wasn’t designed for: cool and dry.

“While the Gabba R provides the ultimate protection for racing in the rain while being as aerodynamic as a speedsuit – the Do.Di.Ci. excels in high intensity rides in cool dry conditions. When it’s not raining, it cannot be beaten.”

The jacket’s Ristretto fabric is noted for being extremely stretchy, allowing for a close-to-body race fit that does not feel constricting, which is available in both men’s and women’s versions, with a short-sleeved men’s option also offered.

Additional features include:

  • Minimalist construction for comfort and speed
  • YKK Vislon zipper
  • Three rear pockets
  • Reflective piping at bottom of pocket

The long-sleeved version is priced at $280.00, while the men’s short−sleeved version sells for $240.00.

The men’s jacket is available in four colorways: Rich Red, Ultraviolet, Light Black, and Mocha, with women’s version offered in Light Black and Ultraviolet.
