CHAPTER2 has introduced its latest road bike called the KOKO, dazzling roadies with a style quotient that’s squarely aimed at cheating the wind.
Taking queues from the Australian brand’s successfully RERE model, the KOKO not only capitalizes on its sibling’s aerodynamic credentials with newly designed tube profiles and a sculpted seattube, but also involves a new fabrication process that relies on a sophisticated Latex mandrel molding technique to create the main triangle, followed by High-Tensile Directional Toray Carbon throughout the areas of the headtube, bottom bracket, seatstays and chainstays.
According to CHAPTER2, the result is a 35.64% increase in stiffness in the frame’s fuselage, along with a 13.35% increase in bottom bracket rigidity, while the KOKO’s aerodynamic signature has also been significantly improved courtesy of Kamm-Tails along the downtube and seattube, as well as full cable integration.
Ride comfort was also a factor when developing the KOKO, incorporating a new seatpost/seatube design that offers two levels of compliance to thwart even the roughest of tarmac.
Additionally, the geometry of the KOKO was also tweaked a bit, relying on a slightly shorter stack measurement, along with a 73mm bottom bracket height to improve the rider’s aerodynamic position, while also ensuring optimal balance and stability thanks to a lower center of gravity.
The KOKO is available in six sizes ranging from XS to XL, and in two colorways, Gloss Black and Cobalt + Green for $3,549 and $3,699, respectively.
Customers can also bundle their frameset with CHAPTER2’s one-piece MANA handlebar and stem for $699.
