DT Swiss has rolled out its latest set of wheels dubbed the ARC 1600 Spline, featuring an internal width of 20mm to accommodate wider tires, along with the brand’s proven 350 hubs.
“Wider tires tend to have a positive influence on rolling resistance. Thanks to their greater volume, they have a broader contact patch and can be ridden with less air pressure without risking a pinch flat,” says DT Swiss.
DT Swiss’ ARC rim technology was first developed with the aerodynamic specialists at Swiss Ride back in 2017, while the 350 hubs share the same Star Ratchet 36 SL system that doubles the number of teeth for 10 degrees of engagement as found on the more premium 240 and 180 hubs.
Elsewhere, the new hoops feature a hooked rim with a 50mm profile that’s laced with DT Aero Comp spokes.
Optimzed for tires that span 255mm to 28mm, the ARC 1600 Spline sells for £1,499, which is available with Shimano Road 9/10/11/12 speed or SRAM XDR RD. (AXDR) free hub bodies.
