Eddy Merckx and Capri-Sun are back in the saddle together, unveiling a limited-edition Pévèle C bike featuring a striking Capri-Sun design. More than just a ride, all profits will benefit the international organization War Child, supporting children affected by war.
Indeed, the Belgian Cycling Factory (the manufacturer of Eddy Merckx. bikes) and Capri-Sun are reprising a nostalgic partnership that dates back to the 1980s. Cycling enthusiasts will remember the iconic Capri-Sonne team riding on Eddy Merckx bikes in 1982, a collaboration that left a mark on cycling history. Now, both brands are teaming up once again, this time to offer a limited-edition bike that makes a meaningful impact in the present.
Jochim AERTS, CEO of Belgian Cycling Factory: ”At the Belgian Cycling Factory, we want to improve people’s lives through cycling. This partnership does exactly that. Especially in these times, such a collaboration is very rewarding. It brings together the Eddy Merckx heritage, a big splash of cycling fun and a shared commitment to War Child.”
DUAL PURPOSE BIKE
The Pévèle C is a versatile all-road bike, designed to perform on both asphalt and gravel terrain. Built with cutting-edge technology and precision engineering, the bike features a carbon frame, Shimano 105 Di2 electronic shifting, and carbon wheels. Its geometry blends the best of road and gravel bike designs, offering riders the flexibility to switch between terrain types with ease. With a wide tyre clearance (up to 38 mm), the bike is as adaptable as it is stylish. The Capri-Sun design will also be available in the online bike configurator, allowing cyclists to customise their bikes according to their preferences.
Yvonne BAUMGARTNER, Global Brand Director at Capri-Sun, adds: “Capri-Sun stands for joy and active connection, and this collaboration is more than just a tribute to our shared history with Eddy Merckx. It’s a chance to combine our efforts for a cause that extends beyond sport: to support children in conflict areas to find carefree moments.”
MADE IN BELGIUM
The limited-edition bike is manufactured in Beringen, Belgium and features a striking Capri-Sun design inspired by the brand’s iconic colors. Priced at €5,575, the limited edition bike will be available for order from May 16 until the end of September via the official Eddy Merckx website.
