EKOI has joined the race for the fastest helmet with its Pure Aero, an all-out aerodynamic lid that’s aimed at cheating the wind for time trialists and triathletes alike.
The Pure Aero first broke cover during last summer’s Tour de France under the auspices of the Lotto-Dstny team. But, it isn’t until now that the new space age helmet has become available to the rest of us mortals.
A year in the making, the Pure Aero underwent extensive testing that included the use of 3D scanning, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and AI, resulting in a claimed 6% reduction in aerodynamic drag compared to the competition – a savings of 13W at 50 km/h race average speeds.
The Pure Aero sells for $395.00, which is currently only available in a widely adjustable size of 55-60cm, with six color options.
