ENVE Introduces New INNERDRIVE Hub System

ENVE has introduced its latest INNERDRIVE hub system, allowing for lighter, stiffer and more durable wheel builds thanks to a completely new design that now comprises straight-pull spokes and a hub shell that sheds 60 grams.

Additionally, servicing has also been made easier now that the same length spokes are used throughout, as well as an anti-twist design that makes wheel building and truing a simpler task.

However, ENVE’s real hallmark of achievement with the INNERDRIVE, is sticking with its proven oversized ratchet ring design, which eliminates the need for pawls and positions the internals further inboard, thus reducing “twisting” on the axle and bearings by centralizing torque.

Elsewhere, the INNERDRIVE features ENVE’s Perfect Preload system, which eliminates bearing preload adjusters by using a tuned wave washer to provide just enough side load on the bearings.

ENVE says the INNERDRIVE hub comes standard with 60-toot ratchets on all road, gravel, SES and G Series wheels, or as a standalone hubset for $750.

Made from proprietary, hardened steel, ENVE offers the following options:

  • 40-tooth (9º engagement)
  • 60-tooth (6º engagement)
  • 80-tooth (4.5º engagement)
  • 100-tooth (3.6º engagement)
  • 24 spokes per wheel
  • 12×100/12×142 thru-axles
