Fizik has launched its latest cycling shoe called the Terra Atlas X5, targeting bikepackers, gravel cyclists and mountain bikers alike.
While the Terra Atlas X5 has a similar appearance to the Italian brand’s existing Terra X5, the new kicks get a complete BOA retention system, meaning the velcro bottom strap has been eliminated in favor of a single BOA dial set-up.
Additionally, a rubber coating has been added across the entire sole, along with deep-set lugs and removable toe studs, while the sole itself features a nylon footplate and outsole, ensuring a proper balance between compliance and pedaling stiffness.
But, perhaps the most distinguishing aspect of the Terra Atlas X5 is its fit, providing riders with a wider heel platform that’s more suitable for walking or hiking when the terrain demands it.
“The Terra Altas X5 is designed for a variety of off-road terrain … everything from fast downcountry laps and epic all-mountain rides to back-country adventures, overnight bikepacking trips and cross-continent endurance races,” boasts Fizik.
The Terra Atlas X5 sells for $159/ £159/ €159, which is available in black/black, army/black, grey/black, pink/grape/black in sizes ranging from 36 to 48 with half sizes in 37 to 46.
