Huawei Introduces New FreeArc Open-Ear Earbuds

Huawei has introduced its latest earbuds dubbed the FreeArc, the brand’s first open wireless wearables that offer both IP57 water and dust protection.

The FreeArc features an ergonomic C-bridge design, which was developed based on the study of more than 10 thousand ear shapes to ensure an easy and secure fit, while the earbuds themselves are made of a high-quality 0.7 mm thick nickel-titanium alloy that ensures maximum durability and a flexible shape that’s designed to adapt to different ear shapes.

Additionally, the open design of FreeArc allows users to hear their surroundings in any situation, delivering sound via a highly sensitive 17 × 12 mm driver with a symmetrical acoustic structure that promises dynamic bass and adaptive equalization, along with a dual microphone and triple noise canceling system for making calls.

Elsewhere, the FreeArc incorporates Huawei’s dual resonator antenna that allows users to stay connected to their smartphone up to 400 meters outdoors and up to 100 m² in an office space. Moreover, Huawei claims the FreeArc can play up to 7 hours of music on a single charge or up to 28 hours when recharged from the case.

Lastly, the FreeArc includes Huawei’s new Reverse Sound Waves System, providing both direct audio as well as external sound canceling, ensuring clear and private listening. Also, if users want to enhance their listening experience further, they can select from four EQ presets within the Huawei app such as Default, Elevate, Treble boost and Voices — or customize their own.

Weighing in at just 8.9 grams, the FreeArc sells for $125, which is available in black, green and gray.
