Hunt is showing off its newest gravel-specific 25 Carbon X-Wide wheelset, providing what the British brand says is “the perfect nexus between gravel and mountain bike wheels” thanks its H_Core reinforced carbon layup technology and a wider 27mm internal width, offering enthusiasts a broader range of tire applications while bolstering strength and durability.
“Designed for those who push the limits of the “gravel’ category”. The 25 Carbon Gravel X-Wide is engineered to handle whatever the trail throws your way. With an H_Core reinforced carbon layup, wide internal rim width and reliable H_Ratchet 36 SGL hubset, this wheelset is ready for remote trails, bikepacking, and technical descents that’s optimized for 45-60mm (2.35″) tires for best performance, but works well with 35mm up to 65mm,” says Hunt.
As mentioned, the new 25 Carbon Gravel X-Wide wheelset spins on Hunt’s new H_Ratchet 36T SGL hubs that are laced with Pillar PSR triple-butted J-bend spokes, which feature 10-degrees of engagement and the lightweight and robustness of a single-sided ratchet drive system. Moreover, the wheels also offer Boost spacing, allowing mountain bikers and gravelers alike to convert their bikes.
The new 25 Carbon Gravel X-Wide wheelset sells for $1,299, with freehub options to accommodate Shimano HG, Shimano Microspline, SRAM XD/XDR and Campagnolo N3W.
