Litespeed Introduces the “World’s Lightest Titanium Road Bike”

Litespeed is introducing what it’s calling the “world’s lightest titanium road bike”, featuring the American brand’s Coll dels Reis frame that tips the scales at a claimed 948g in a size medium.

Named after the famous Coll dels Reis in Majorca, the frame gets its gravity-defying weight courtesy of custom-formed 3AL/2.5V titanium tubing that trounces the competition by no fewer than 232 grams, and as much as 500+ grams in some comparisons.

“To bring out the material’s full potential, every tube is precisely tuned through a combination of internal and external diameter control, butting, bending, shaping and careful mitering,” says Litespeed. “The Coll dels Reis hits the most ambitious weight, durability, and stiffness targets of any titanium bike, each tube tuned to specific frame sizes.”

Elsewhere, the Coll dels Reis features fully internal cable routing, a choice of either a BSA or T47i threaded bottom bracket, a UDH (universal derailleur hanger) or a proprietary lightweight dropout, with enough clearance to accommodate tires up to a hefty 35mm.

The Colle dels Reis is available in six stock sizes (custom geometry is also an option), with complete builds that span Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 or SRAM Red AXS groupsets shod with Enve SES 2.3, SES 4.5, or Zipp 353 NSW wheelsets, along with an ENVE IN-Route cockpit and fork, as well as a Chris King AeroSet headset and seatpost collar.

Pricing for a frameset starts at $6,499, while complete bikes start at $16,500.
