To celebrate French cycling icon Laurent Jalabert’s second place finish in the men’s 50-54 age group at the Ironman World Championships in Kona last weekend, LOOK is offering a limited edition version of its 796 Monoblade RS time trial bike called the Eruption.
According to LOOK, only 50 Eruptions will be produced, which feature a burnt bronze finish inspired by the volcano and lava fields that punctate the Hawaiian landscape.
Jalabert has worked closely with LOOK since his retirement from racing 15 years ago, helping the coveted French brand develop various road and time trial bikes over the years, most recently the 796 Monoblade RS.
While the 796 Monoblade RS was developed primarily for time trialing, the versatility of its platform allows it to be set-up as a triathlon bike as well.
Each Eruption will be individually numbered, and is being offered as a frameset for $8000, including a Dura-Ace rear brake, LOOK’s variable offset aero seatpost, Zed 3 carbon crankset and its fully adjustable, ergonomic Aergo carbon handlebar aluminum Aeroflat stem.
