Spotted at the French National Championships this week, Bretagne-Séché Environnement riders were seen onboard what appears to be Look’s
new 796 time trial bike.
According to reports, the new 796 is said to feature an integrated cockpit, brakes and crankset.
Look issued these series of “teaser” photos, which depict the 796 as borrowing heavily from the French brand’s 795 AeroLight road bike, which includes their own integrated V-style front brake, a chainstay-mounted direct-mount rear brake and a stem that integrates seamlessly with the flat shaped top tube.
Based on the photos, the brake and gear cables are conspicuously missing, which gives rise to the thought, that Look has made use of its patented internal head tube cable routing via the stem.
In addition, Look seems to have also incorporated its carbon crankset and patented ‘TRILOBE’ pedal mounting system, which allows the crank length to be adjusted to 170, 172.5 or 175mm.
Look is promising further details at the start of this year’s Tour de France.
