MCipollini Introduces New Itaca Endurance Bike

Known for its mostly race-inspired road bikes, MCipollini has introduced its first endurance-focussed model dubbed the Itaca, offering a geometry that’s aimed at providing comfort during “big day’s out in the saddle”.

In addition to geometry, the Itaca features MCipollini’s True Monocoque Frame (TCM) construction that’s crafted from a single mold, comprising a mix of carbon fiber and an extensive lay-up process to exact the requisite amount of strength and compliance needed to tackle the rigors of diverse terrain.

Additionally, engineers decided to add flax fiber to the design of the seatpost, a material that we haven’t seen used in a frameset since the Museeuw bikes of old, along with enough clearance to accommodate tires up to a hefty 40mm, further enhancing the Itaca’s comfort quotient.

Elsewhere, the Itaca sees 160mm direct-mount disc brakes and a new UDH front derailleur mount. Also, the bike is treated to a magnetically-sealed storage compartment for stowing a multitool, tire levers and CO2 cartridges.

The Itaca is available in five sizes that span XS to XL, along with a number of build options from Shimano and SRAM.
