MET is showing off its latest time trial helmet dubbed the Drone Wide Body II, the result of extensive wind-tunnel testing that was conducted in the Italian brand’s new state-of-the-art testing facility aptly called the TUBE.
Following countless hours of testing, along with numerous prototypes that were developed using 3D printing, the latest Drone features a revamped tail section that helps the new lid cheat the wind to the effect of a 13.5-second gain over a 40-kilometer time trial when compared to the previous model.
How?
By channeling more airflow over the shoulders, the rider experiences a significant reduction in turbulence and drag, yielding both valuable energy savings, as well as an improved aerodynamic signature.

Chosen by the best triathletes in the world and winner, together with UAE Team Emirates and Tadej Pogačar, of the TT at the Giro and the Tour de France, the new Drone was designed in the TUBE, a new and advanced wind tunnel built at our headquarters in Talamona,” boasts MET.
Weighing in at a hefty 430 grams, the Drone Wide Body II won’t win any plaudits from the weight weenies faction, but then again, it’s all about gaining an aerodynamic advantage while racing against the clock.
The Drone Wide Body II sells for 500€, which is available in sizes medium and large, with colors in matte Black or glossy White metallic.
