Miche Rolls Out New Kleos RD Disc Brake Wheelsets

Miche, the Italian brand that you don’t hear much about these days, at least in the US, has rolled out a new disc brake wheelset dubbed the Kleos RD, which focuses on balancing optimal aerodynamics and low weight, resulting in a set of hoops that tips the scales at a feathery 1,390 grams.

Offered in rim depths of 36mm, 50mm and 60mm, according to Miche the tube-less ready, clincher wheelset derives its name from the Greek word for “eternal glory”, comprising a carbon construction that’s culled from a mix of Toray T1100 and T700 fiber, along with a unidirectional finish.

The Kleos features a hooked design, with RD 36 and RD 50 having a 21mm internal rim width, while the RD 62 goes wider at 23mm, providing enough space to accommodate a full spectrum of tires.

Elsewhere, the Kleos RD spins on Miche’s Ergal 7075 T6 hubs with CeramicSpeed bearings and a freehub body that’s treated to a titanium pawl carrier, along with the brand’s own Aero Blade technology for the front, non-drive side hub, relying on 16 spokes that are arranged in a three-cross pattern on the drive-side.

The Kleos RD retails for €2,349 for all versions, with pricing for the US market to be announced.
