Miche, the Italian brand that you seldom hear much about these days, at least in the US, has rolled out two more affordable versions of its Kleos RD wheelsets simply called the Kleos, focussing on the same aerodynamics and low weight, albeit with less costly Toray T700 carbon fiber. The same for the internals, which forgo expensive CeramicSpeed bearings for less premium Japanese EZO stainless steel.
However, like their more expensive siblings, the Kleos sticks with the same 36mm and 50mm rim profiles and 21mm internal width, along with a mini-hooked design that’s optimized for 28mm tires.
All in, Miche says the Kleos 36 and 50 tip the scales at 1,455 grams and 1520 grams, respectively, still a respectable weight for a set of disc brake clincher hoops.
The standard clincher Kleos 36 and 50 will set you back €1,699.00, while the tubeless-ready variants fetch €1,749.00, not a major difference in cost over the Kleos RD’s, but a savings nonetheless.
