microSHIFT Once Again Targets the Gravel Segment with More Affordable Sword Black Groupset

microShift has once again targeted the gravel segment with its Sword Black groupset, the newest member of microSHIFT’s Sword product family that offers the same ergonomics, wide gear range and ease of serviceability as the original Sword group, albeit at a more affordable price.

microSHIFT caused quite a stir with the launch of its budget 10-speed Sword last year, offering a compelling option for enthusiasts who were looking to build up a modern drop-handled bike or revive an old frame using fresh parts without breaking the bank.

According to microShift, the basis for launching the Sword Black was to “fill out” its product line with the goal of reaching more riders at a more affordable price point, relying on the same pull-ratio and mechanical set-up as the original Sword, but designed for 9-speed that can be configured for both 1x and 2x drivetrains.

“From the textured hoods to the sculpted rear derailleur, Sword Black cuts a striking figure. Modern looks, modern feel, and modern gear ratios combine to form a groupset you would feel comfortable putting on anything,” says microShift.

Additionally, microSHIFT has added the option for a square taper crankset, along with the same chainring standards as the original Sword.

The Sword Black will be available starting in August, with a retail price of $349.
