Moots is dazzling gravelers with its latest limited edition “California Dreamin” Routt CRD gravel bike that’s finished in all manner of technicolor anodizing.
Made in collaboration with Chris Johnston of Outdoor Bros., the limited edition bike features all of the signature traits of the standard Routt CRD like Moot’s lightweight RSL titanium tubing, 3D-printed Universal Derailleur Hanger dropouts, a T47 bottom bracket and the bespoke brand’s latest integrated cockpit and carbon gravel fork.
“I wanted a bike that could adapt seamlessly to whatever terrain I encountered,” Johnston explains. “It needed to have both capability and personality, capturing the essence of California style and performance.”
Limited to just 25 pieces, Moots’ in-house specialist Richard Jara completes each frameset by hand, meaning no two frames from this limited run are alike.
“The anodizing process is like painting with voltage, and Jara is Michelangelo,” says Johnston. “Every frame will have nuances, subtle color shifts, and intentional imperfections that add character and depth. It’s raw, refined and thoughtfully detailed.”
The limited edition “California Dreamin” Routt CRD can be purchased as a frameset only, or a complete bike, with prices topping out at a staggering $15,899.00.
