More Images Emerge on Segway’s New eBike Models

Since debuting its all-new eBike models at this month’s Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas, more images have emerged on Segway’s latest pedelecs.

Dubbed the Xyber and Xafari, Segaway describes the Xafari ($2,999.99) as “a true mid-range light-electric vehicle” that features 110mm of travel, while a twist throttle can propel the bike from 0 to 20 mph in 2.7 seconds thanks to its 6,000-watt direct-drive motor that’s capable of a top speed of 35 mph with a dual-battery configuration.

Additionally, its 2,880Wh dual-battery set-up can provide up to 112 miles of travel, along with 12 levels of pedal assistance, as well as three modes (Eco, Sport, and Race) of throttle-only operation, while the rubber meets the road courtesy of 20×5.0-inch wheels.

Looking more 1970s minibike than a modern-day pedelec, Segway describes the Xyber ($2,399.99) as an “all-terrain cruiser” with a max assist of 20 mph by way of a 750-watt motor, complete with switchable three-class modes using the Segway app. In addition, the Xyber is equipped with a full suspension, offering 80mm travel up front and 70mm in rear, while its 936Wh battery allows for up to 88 miles of travel between charges. The bike also rolls on more aggressive 26×3.0 wheels.

“The Xyber is an unclassified e-bike designed for maximum performance and is not intended for use on-road or where prohibited,” adds Segway. “A second version of the Xyber fully conforming to Class 2 e-bike requirements to comply with federal, state and local regulations is expected late Spring/early Summer 2025.”

Both models are UL 2272 certified, featuring Segway’s Intelligent Ride System, which the brand describes as “an integrated suite of smart tech and features” such as GPS tracking, maintenance reminders, adaptive pedal assist to automatically adjust power depending on terrain and rider effort, real-time health and fitness data that syncs to the Segway Mobility app and other features like bike security and theft detection.
