Muc-Off has introduced its latest innovation called the Stealth Tubeless Tag Holder, a unique hidden bike tracking solution that allows for an Apple AirTag to be stowed inside the tire and rim of a tubeless-compatible wheel, providing a covert tracking solution that’s completely hidden from bike thieves.
Designed for use with an Apple AirTag (not included), the Stealth Tubeless Tag Holder is housed in a protective, 3-part silicone and rubber tubeless valve mount that’s supplied with a range of tubeless valve bases, ensuring an airtight seal against the rim and tubeless tire.
Also built-in to protect the rim and the AirTag from high-impacts, is a sacrificial stem that compresses and rebounds under extreme loads. Although the holder will absorb impacts, it’s secured to the valve via a durable stem mount that allows sealant and air to flow through the valve without rattling inside the rim and tire.
Additionally, the Apple AirTag itself works by allowing users to track any item from their phone, using the Find My app. Once activated, any item the tag is connected to appears on the radar within the app, so tracking one’s bike down is as simple as looking on the map.
According to a study from Direct Line Insurance, between April and August 2020, UK bicycle thefts exceeded 110,000, while bike registration specialists 529 Garage reported that the US experiences over 2 million bike thefts every year, that’s one every 30 seconds. Moreover, aggregated data from Worldometers suggests that the number of new bikes produced in 2021 will exceed 150 million by year end, so there’s never been a more important time for bike owners to equip themselves with the added security the Stealth Tubeless Tag Holder provides.
