Ex-Pro and Industry Veteran Pietro Caucchioli Takes the Helm at Mumu Cycling Apparel

Mumu cycling apparel has announced that ex-pro and seasoned industry veteran Pietro Caucchioli has taken the helm as general manager in the U.S., who previously headed-up operations for such prestigious brands as Alé, DMT and Cipollini here in the states.

“As a Pro-Tour rider, Pietro competed in prestigious events like the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia, where he achieved remarkable success, including stage victories and podium finishes, along with numerous other results at the highest level of World Tour racing. With nearly 15 years in the cycling industry and over 650,000 miles ridden, Pietro’s expertise and passion for the sport make him a key asset to the team, uniquely positioning him to understand the needs of cyclists and translate them into innovative apparel solutions. Mumu remains committed to investing in its future and charting a path for growth. With Pietro’s leadership, the company aims to enhance its product development, strengthen brand identity, and streamline business processes, laying a solid foundation for expanded operations,” says Mumu.

Mumu has also taken ownership of its production facility, giving the company full control, speed and flexibility across the entire manufacturing process. At the same time, the company sources premium fabrics and chamois directly from Italy, combining efficiency with world-class material quality. Currently, Mumu is focused on expanding and strengthening its presence in the U.S. market.

Jan Heylen, owner of Mumu and a Belgian native with a rich cycling background, expressed his enthusiasm about Pietro joining the team: “Pietro’s extensive racing background and deep understanding of the cycling apparel landscape will make him an invaluable asset as we continue to elevate our brand and offerings,” Heylen stated. “At Mumu, we are building a team of hardworking, highly motivated people who share our values and dreams, and who want to succeed together in fulfilling our mission,” he adds.

“I’m thrilled to be part of Mumu and to contribute my knowledge and experience from years in racing and cycling apparel. Together, we will refine and enhance Mumu’s clothing line, elevate the brand identity, and create the organizational strength needed to take the business to the next level. I’m excited to start my journey with the Mumu team and the opportunity to work directly with our production facility,” says Caucchioli.

“With a strong customer-focused approach and a commitment to excellence, Mumu Apparel is poised to strengthen its position as a premier provider of cycling kits for teams, clubs, and shops worldwide. Under Pietro’s leadership, the company is ready to deliver exceptional products that embody both cutting-edge design and superior quality,” further adds Heylen.

Mumu offers a wide range of apparel that spans jerseys, jackets, bib shorts, race suits, off-bike wear and accessories galore across road, mountain, triathlon and gravel.

Mumu also offers custom apparel, guiding clubs and teams through the design process from start to finish.
