New Cycplus DC1 Allows You to Pedal at Your Desk

Claiming to be the world’s first “mini self-powered pedal exerciser”, the new Cycplus DC1 allows you to spin at your desk, providing different levels of resistance along with its own built-in power meter that can keep track of your cadence and ride data.

“The DC1 features a real cycling resistance model, designed for professional training, and it doesn’t need to be plugged in—powered solely by your pedaling, so you can exercise anytime, anywhere, even during work breaks. With its low-profile design, the DC1 has a pedal height of just 24cm. It’s ready to use straight out of the box, requiring no installation. It fits easily under your desk, seamlessly blending into your workspace. At under 30dB, the noise is so quiet it won’t interfere with conference calls, making it the perfect office health companion,” says the designers.

The DC1 features an advanced permanent magnet DC motor and worm gear system that can turn kinetic energy from pedaling into electricity, allowing you to not only power the device but also charge the built-in 1000mAh lithium battery, ensuring you can exercise anywhere without being dependent on an outlet, while the 160W motor provides consistent resistance, ensuring that all 10 resistance levels are precise and effective.

Additionally, the proprietary cycling resistance algorithm uses precise mathematical models and real-time data calculations to simulate outdoor wind resistance and slope changes, providing a smoother, more immersive cycling experience. Also, the ERG mode uses precise cadence monitoring technology to automatically adjust the resistance based on your pedaling rhythm, ensuring every workout stays at the optimal intensity for efficient results.

The DC1 can also track 8 key data points: instant power, average power, cadence, total revolutions, time, calories, virtual speed, and virtual distance, while the built-in 2ms per second high-precision Hall sensor captures data at high frequency, ensuring each pedal stroke is recorded accurately.

Cycplus has undertaken a crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo, offering early backers a special introductory price of $129.00.
