Paprika 53 Model 25 GT is the First E-Gravel Bike to Feature DJI’s Avinox Drive System

Paprika 53, a brand up until now no one has ever heard of, has launched a new e-gravel bike called the Model 25 GT, the first pedelec to feature DJI’s Avinox drive system that provides up to 120Nm torque and 1000w peak power, while touting a triple-digit travel range.

The Model 25 GT first broke cover during this month’s Sea Otter, boasting a full-carbon frame that’s paired with a RockShox Rudy Ultimate XPLR suspension fork with 40mm of travel on offer and SRAM’s Reverb AXS XPLR dropper seatpost, while things roll on beefy 50mm Maxxis Rambler tires.

Elsewhere, the Model 25 GT is equipped with SRAM’s X01 Eagle AXS mullet drivetrain that’s fitted with Force eTap AXS shifters, with gearing courtesy of a 38t front chainring and 11-50t cassette. The bike is further punctuated by Paprika 53’s own Parabola handlebar with 25 degrees of flare and in-house carbon wheels.

Paprika 53 was started by former tech designers, Matt Chen and Susie Liu. Chen is a former Vice President of OnePlus “with nearly 20 years of experience in global product strategy and operations, which includes “launching hardware at scale, as well as advising leading tech firms on growth and execution”.

Liu is a Cambridge-educated brand builder with experience across finance, luxury and consumer tech. She led international marketing at OnePlus and spearheaded Roblox’s expansion into Asia.

As for their inspiration behind developing the Model 25 GT, both designers say they were interested in creating an electric powered gravel bike that “wasn’t a brand idea, but a product problem.” “We wanted to build a bike that doesn’t care for categories, and a lifestyle that doesn’t fit into boxes?”

Following its debut at Sea Otter, there’s been no further buzz about the Model 25 GT, with pricing and availability still to be announced by Paprika 53.
