Q36.5 and SRM Team Up on Low-Stack Shoe and Pedal System

Q36.5 and SRM have teamed up on a new low-stack shoe and pedal system, a six month project that claims to have yielded the lowest stack height on the market.

According to Q36.5’s founder, Luigi Bergamo, he discovered the advantages of a low stack height while testing shoes with ultra-thin soles, along with different cleat attachment designs, resulting in improved pedaling efficiency.

From there, Bergamo reached out to Ulrich Schoberer, the founder of SRM power meters, and began experimenting with lower-stack shoes and pedal systems, quickly discovering how the redcued foot-to-axle position resulted in both greater leverage and improved pedaling efficiency.

“The new game-changing pedal and shoe system reduces pedaling stack height by over 8mm relative to existing systems, offering the most direct and efficient power transfer on the market,” claims Bergamo.

The yet-to-be-released Q36.5 pedals will be available exclusively with the Italian brand’s Unique Pro shoes, albeit without the power meter at first, with pricing and availability to be announced.
