Why sip from a teacup when you can drink from a hydration vest? At least that’s Restrap’s philosophy when it comes to staying plenished while traversing the great expanse – think gravel racing and bikepacking.
Aptly dubbed the Race Hydration Vest, the new pack comes in two sizes, small/medium and large/XL, with both providing a 5.5L capacity and a 2L hydration bladder that’s designed to sit high on the back for all-day riding comfort, thus allowing easy access to jersey pockets.
The Race Hydration Vest has three primary points of adjustment along the sides, shoulders and chest, along with reflective zipper pulls and other details for visibility.
Additionally, there are several easy-access pockets, including stretch mesh pockets on the front for 500ml bottles or nutrition, as well as stretch mesh drop pockets on the back for two 500ml bottles, an expandable zip pocket on the left strap and a main zippered pocket on the body. Moreover, there’s a magnetic bladder hose clip and hanging loop on the back, while the bag uses an Airmesh construction designed to create airflow.
“Riders who need to carry extra fuel and hydration on longer, remote rides and ultra-endurance races“. Therefore, they designed and developed the new Race Hydration Vest working closely with their team of endurance ambassadors. “The Race Hydration Vest proved instrumental in our North Race Campaign, where ambassador Josh Reid cycled 315 miles (506 km) in 24 hours, with a mere 62 minutes of stopping time throughout. He was able to achieve this by carrying all the nutrition and hydration with him, keeping stopping time to a minimum,” says the British brand.
Made entirely in the UK, the Restrap Race Hydration Vest sells for $190.
