Lest it’s for gravel, we seldom stray from the tarmac to write about bikes in the MTB segment. However, we’ve been assured that Revel’s new Tirade titanium hardtail is worth penning something about.
According to Revel, the Tirade draws its inspiration from the brand’s full-suspension Rascal, incorporating a 140mm fork, progressive geometry, adaptable chainstay lengths and a shorter seat tube length with ample insertion depth that’s designed to accommodate longer dropper posts, allowing riders to tailor it to their preferred riding style.
“Say goodbye to compromise and hello to everything you want in a hardtail. Slack enough to handle the rough stuff and just steep enough to make pedaling a pleasure, the Tirade is incredibly balanced with a nod to our full-suspension Rascal. This frame is more than just eye candy, when you ride the Tirade, you’re not just riding a bike, you’re riding a whole new beast,” boasts Revel.
At the heart of the Tirade is Revel’s modern take on traditional titanium, featuring cold-formed 3/2.5 titanium tubing to achieve its stunning looks while optimizing stiffness and compliance. Moreover, to meet the demands for increased strength, the headtube, bottom bracket shell and dropouts are CNC machined from solid blocks of 6/4 titanium, emphasizing durability and resilience.
The Tirade is available in five sizes ranging from small to 2XL, along with a number of build kits that span Shimano and SRAM drivetrains, with prices starting at $5,199,00 or as a frame only for $2,499.00.
