If it doesn’t involve a drop-handlebar, then there better be a good why we’re reporting on anything other than a road or gravel bike. Perhaps, Revel’s updated Rail29 provides a compelling reason, as evidenced by its increased fork travel and versatile 29-inch wheel application – not to mention its stylish new paint schemes.
Before making its debut, Revel says it spent years designing, testing, riding and refining the new Rail29, representing years of knowledge the brand gained from obsessing over the details to create a “hard-charging yet nimble platform”.
Featuring an updated fork with greater travel, the Rail29 has gone from 160mm to 170mm, allowing riders to tackle everything from Down Hill pursuits to technical Cross Country trails, while upping the style quotient with two new colorways – Cowboy Coffee and Flow State.
“During the summer, we close the office early to participate in the Tuesday night DH race series up the road at Snowmass Bike Park. These new colors pay homage to one of the local favorite tracks, Cowboy Coffee. You really need to enter the Flow State to get down this one fast and in one piece!,” says Revel.
The Rail29 is available as a stand alone frame for $3,599.00, or as a complete bike with a mix of different suspension and drivetrain options starting at $5,999.00.
