Ahead of its launch, Rondo has won a prestigious Design & Innovation for its new IOON electric gravel bike, a first for the Polish brand in the e-gravel bike segment.
The IOON is equipped with a Fazua Ride 60 drive system, which can deliver peak pedaling assistance of up to 430W, with the whole system tipping the scales at just 4.2kg (9.2lb). In addition, Rondo’s Twintip carbon fork allows riders to choose some degree of geometry adjustment courtesy of a flip-chip that’s embedded in the dropout eyelets.
However, perhaps the most striking aspect of the IOON is its silhouette, featuring a kinked top tube that’s joined by a radial looking seat tube that terminates into a gooseneck, while the bottom bracket features an equalling bold design that places the seat tube juncture far in front of the frame’s center of gravity.
“The IOON combines RONDO’s distinctive design with versatile functionality and robust assistance. Eye-catching features like the TwinTip fork and signature head tube make this e-gravel bike a true head-turner, while the performance-oriented specs cater to demanding riders. The FAZUA Ride 60 motor is seamlessly integrated into the frame, providing ample power for steep climbs, smooth responsiveness, and a natural ride feel,” says the Design & Innovation Award jury.
The Rondo IOON is available for pre-order with pricing starting at £5,999, with several build options to be announced.
