ROTOR Welcomes New Wireless UNO Groupset

ROTOR has decided to wave goodbye to its ill-fated UNO hydraulic groupset and welcome a new wireless, electronic drivetrain of the same name.

Developed in partnership with the Chinese company WheelTop, which is now a partial owner of the Spanish brand, the new UNO features a wireless rear derailleur that’s paired with a Rotor carbon powermeter crank and 12-speed cassette, while shifting and stopping power is provided via Wheeltop’s carbon levers and hydraulic disc brakes for a gravel setup.

However, the system avails itself to 3rd-party brakes should one decide to go with an MTB set-up.

Details are still sparse on the new UNO, but it appears that the system can be mixed and matched in terms of medium or long derailleur cages, cassettes ratios and the choice of either drop-bar or flat-bar controls, as well as a standard crank or one with a spider-based power meter. Moreover, the groupset can also be set-up with a 10, 12, or 13-speed cassette.

Pricing on the new UNO is equally scarce, but ROTOR says the cost for the MTB upgrade kit (derailleur and shifter) will be under €700, while the gravel kit (derailleur, levers, and brake calipers) is expected to be around €800.
